MLS is the simplest league in the world to watch: since 2026 every match is in the regular Apple TV subscription, in more than 100 countries — with a set of matches also on FOX and FS1 in the United States and on TSN in Canada.
How to watch MLS
The separate MLS Season Pass is gone. From 2026 every match — the regular season, Leagues Cup, the All-Star Game, the playoffs and MLS Cup — is part of the standard Apple TV subscription, with no blackouts, in more than 100 countries. In the United States that subscription rose to $14.99 a month on 28 August 2026; in Canada it is CA$14.99. Season ticket holders get it included.
Linear TV keeps a slice. In the US, FOX shows 34 regular-season matches — 15 free over the air on the FOX network and 19 on FS1, all of them in Spanish on FOX Deportes — plus selected playoff games on FS1 and MLS Cup on FOX. In Canada TSN, and RDS in French, show selected matches with at least one Canadian club a week, selected playoff games and MLS Cup.
2026 is the last season on the old calendar. The playoffs start on 18 November and MLS Cup is on Friday 18 December; then a 14-match "Sprint Season" runs from February to May 2027, and the first summer-to-spring season starts in July 2027 and ends with MLS Cup in late May 2028.

Watching MLS without problems
- Sign up the day before, not at kick-off. Account creation, card checks and the first app download all take minutes, and sign-up pages are at their slowest in the half hour before a big match.
- A steady connection beats a fast one. Each service publishes its own minimum speed for HD in its help pages, and 4K needs several times that. On Wi-Fi, sit near the router; on mobile data, set the app's quality before the match rather than during it.
- Streams run behind the TV broadcast. An app is often thirty seconds or more behind live TV and radio, so goal alerts from a score app can arrive before you see the goal — mute them for the ninety minutes.
- Plans cap how many screens play at once. The entry tier of most services allows one or two streams at the same time; check the plan before sharing an account in a household.
- Travelling changes what plays. Subscriptions are licensed per country. Inside the EU, the portability rules let residents use their home subscription while temporarily in another member state; outside it, expect the home app to be geo-blocked.
- Official apps only. Unofficial streams are unreliable, full of malicious ads and cut off mid-match. Every service on this page is the licensed holder in its own market.
Common questions
Do I still need MLS Season Pass?
No. MLS Season Pass was discontinued after 2025; since 2026 every match is included in the regular Apple TV subscription, which costs $14.99 a month in the US.
When is MLS Cup 2026?
Friday 18 December 2026, on FOX and Apple TV. The playoffs start on 18 November, after the regular season ends on 7 November.
Is MLS changing its calendar?
Yes. After a short 14-match Sprint Season from February to May 2027, MLS switches to a summer-to-spring season: 2027-28 starts in July 2027 and ends with MLS Cup in late May 2028, with a winter break.
Can I watch MLS for free?
Fifteen regular-season matches air free over the air on the FOX network in the US, and MLS Cup is on FOX too — an antenna is enough. Everything else needs Apple TV, FS1 or, in Canada, TSN.
Why does the app for MLS depend on my country?
Rights to MLS are sold market by market, so a different service holds them in each country and a subscription bought abroad is normally geo-blocked at home. That is why this page lists 3 services across 100+ countries instead of one app.
Can I watch MLS on my phone?
Yes — every service here streams in its own iOS and Android app, and some sell shorter access that suits a phone: Apple TV (day pass).
